Cardamom Sugar

Vanessa's lovely book Prepped arrived last weekend and I have really enjoyed reading it.  She has some really super ideas and recipes. One of the key elements of her cooking is having ingredients such as sugars and syrups prepared.  So to start myself off, I made a jar of Cardamom Sugar.  I am really looking forward to cooking with it!

2 simple ingredients

Layer together in a clean glass jar

Label and store

She recommends keeping it for at least a month before you use it, so I popped the date on the label.

PS I just checked in the dictionary and my spelling with a "n" at the end is also OK, what a relief!

  8. Now that is a fabulous idea. I love baking with cardamom, it's one of my favourite spices. Vanilla sugar I have on the go, but would never have thought of something as obvious as this.

  12. I have a shelf load of flavoured sugars at the moment - lemon balm sugar for panacottas, lavender sugar for throwing onto shortbread and basil sugar for herbs. Manically trying to use some of the herbs that are overgrowing in my garden just now thanks to rain sun rain sun rain that we have had for days here in Scotland.
Looking forward to see what you do with your cardamon sugar.
