I am still surprised, how did my Apricot and Fairtrade Vanilla Jam manage to win the preserve section of the Ndali Fairtrade Challenge, at Fortnum and Mason? I'm not sure, but the judge obviously liked the taste of the simple ingredients I had used. I was thrilled, excited and delighted.
And WOW! what a fantastic prize I've won!
Three weeks ago I came home from work and there was a note from Parcel Force, telling me that they had left a parcel with my neighbour, when I popped round she had a huge box in her hall, so I picked it up and brought it home.
I was excited as my daughter and I unwrapped the parcel, and there it was.... a beautiful Almond K-Mix from Kenwood.
I have been putting the K-Mix through it's paces, and it seems to be a great kitchen workhorse.
The dough I have made for pizzas on Saturday has been fabulous, the Bundt Cakes which I have recently baked are light and moist, and the royal icing for my gingerbread houses has just been perfect.
It was wonderful to take part in the event, absolutely amazing to have won! I once again want to thank Vanessa Kimbell who worked so hard to organise the event, following her life changing trip to the Vanilla farmers in Uganda with Ndali Fairtrade Vanilla. As well as thanking Fortnum and Mason who were such wonderful hosts, and of course, Kenwood who donated an array of fantastic prizes.
Congratulations! And what a perfect prize! I dream of having a mixer like that! I can only imagine the wonderful things you'll make with it!Enjoy it!
