I know,
obvious, but that is just how I feel during my post Christmas break here in Brittany. I love all the fresh seafood we find. We had a couple of fantastic seafood meals in Roscoff. If you are ever getting a ferry to Brittany, then do consider going via Roscoff, the restaurants are superb!

I always have a seafood platter:
wonderful, lots of things I wouldn't buy for home! |
 |
| The oysters were incredibly fresh |
 |
| Crab and winkles (I think) |
 |
| Delicious prawns |
 |
And my daughter chose this!
She doesn't want the children's menu anymore
No more chips for her, just seafood! |
 |
Of course, she decided she would prefer my crab
so we swapped and I had more prawns! |
 |
| I must try piping mayonnaise! |
 |
And in any little town, you'll always meet the lady
walking her goats! |
 |
| They were very sweet and placid! |
 |
Next time we went to eat, our daughter ordered her own 1/2 crab |
 |
| My husband and I both had oysters |
 |
| And I ate Sea Bass |
 |
| While he ate Monkfish! |
I hope, before we are midway through January, to write a post with my 'aims for the year' or some such!
Those of you who follow me on Twitter though, will know that my cooking is on hold, while I wait for my darling new dog to come home!
He is gorgeous... a rescued greyhound. Tall, dark and handsome! I am collecting him on Friday, so please keep your fingers (and toes) crossed that he can cope with life outside a kennel and is happy to be a family dog.
He wasn't very good at posing today at the kennels, but here he is!
If you are ever considering adopting a dog, then do consider a Greyhound. We have had two, they are gentlest of creatures, and so laid back! Its more like a large cat in the house, then a comparable sized dog.
Our dogs have come from Hersham Hounds, you can follow the link
here. If you want a dog, have the space, you live in London and don't drive, then I'll be happy to help you get to Hersham and see these wonderful, beautiful, perfect creatures.
You will fall in love!
what have you called him? Love the look of all that fresh seafood and the piped mayo, and fancy meeting goats being walked in the street!
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously jealous of those oysters, they look so juicy and plump. Such a handsome dog too, those eyes are beautiful!
ReplyDeletethat seafood platter is just a beauty!! so funny with walking the goats!! and what a beautiful dog :))

Oh I am so pleased that you have chosen such a handsome looking greyhound. I bet he will be very happy with you and your family and I am also so envious of your seafood and fish meals and plentiful supplies that you can lay your hands on in Brittany. I could eat it all in one sitting! Good luck Friday xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That sea food looks amazing, especially the crab. It makes me think of all the fresh sea food I used to get back home in British Columbia Canada. I must admit though, I've never been a fan of oysters - they look like little slimy tongues!
ReplyDeleteLovely sea food and I love your dog - I would love a dog, but it is unfair in a flat, although with me working from home it could be posible?
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of your seafood feast! I need to be more adventurous with seafood! I hope you are having lots of fun with your new arrival!
