Preparing for First Holy Communion

On Sunday my daughter makes her First Holy Communion, and next week I will have several posts for you about it.

As you can imagine it is an important family occasion and we have some of her aunts, uncles and cousins,  as well as few family friends attending.  So after the Mass and Communion Breakfast at church, we will be hosting a small lunch party at home.

By now I expect you're thinking how lucky I am to have a newly trained chef in the family, and of course it is wonderful, but he is working three double shifts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so our guests will have to make do with my less then perfect cooking and presentation!

However,  the most important thing is that our daughter has a wonderful and very happy day.  I have a few photographs I took of the altar at  last year's First Holy Communion.  I hope you agree that it looks beautiful.

  1. I look forward to seeing the cake! Although your son is working when you're preparing at least it looks like he has the day off on Sunday. Hope you have a lovely special family day.

  2. Best wishes to you Daughter on her special day

  3. I remember feeling very excited about wearing a very smart dress at my Holy Communion. I would have loved to have a home made cake to go with it and I know yours will be just lovely!

  4. All the best to your daughter on her special day!

  5. So glad to hear you had a good day Jude. What a lovely occasion. I hope John isn't working too hard!

  6. I hope your daughter has a lovely day :)
